The CTC Family Just Got A Lot Bigger
Fellow Climate Warriors,
đšâđ©âđ§âđŠWeâre thrilled to announce that the Climate Tech Circle Fund has made not one, not two, NOT three, but FOUR new investments this quarter into consumer climate tech startups with badass founders solving critical climate challenges!
đ©đŸâđŹEven better, with the new round of investments, 50%+ of CTC Fundâs portfolio companies have female founders, and we wouldnât have it any other way.
đ©âđ»We would also love for CTC Fundâs LPs to be 50%+ female, so weâre offering a limited time 20% discount on the carried interest for all the ladies out there. Thatâs right. Letâs call March CTC Fund ladies monthâŠSubscribe and fund by 3/31 to get the discount! Ping us at m@climatetechcircle.com for more details. March on.
Aaand without further ado, CTC Fundâs 4 Q1 investments!
Fed up with deforestation and want to save the f#$%ing rainforest? Us too! Look no furtherâC16 Bio just released Palmlessâą, an innovative multi-purpose oil made out of C16 Bioâs fermented, palm oil alternative Torula oil.
CTC invested in C16 Bio alongside Breakthrough Energy Ventures and we couldnât be more excited to support C16 as they continueâŠunf#$%ing the rainforest.
Whyâs eliminating palm oil important? According to this article in BloombergâŠâpalm-driven land use change in Indonesia and Malaysia emits the equivalent of roughly 500 million tons of carbon dioxide a year, contributing 1.4% of global net CO2 emissions-almost as much as the aviation sector.â Itâs time for a change, and C16 is leading the charge!
Breathing in nat gas while cooking? Power outages causing your popsicles to melt? No fear. Copper is here to the rescue with Charlie, the first energy storage equipped induction stove!
CTC invested in Copperâs Pre-Seed funding round alongside Collab Fund. Keep an eye out because their Seed round is kicking off soon and itâll fill faster than Charlie pre-orders.
Whyâs the adoption of induction stoves important? Methane emissions from U.S. gas stoves are equivalent to about 500k vehicle CO2 emissions and gas stoves also expose people to NOx. So what are you waiting for? Get on Charlieâs waitlist today!
Do you subscribe to a meal delivery service and end up with a bunch of plastic waste? Dispatch Goods is on the case! Dispatch Goods has already prevented 1.7 million+ items from entering our waste stream since launching in 2020, and theyâre just getting started!
CTC invested in Dispatch Goods alongside Congruent Ventures and Bread and Butter Ventures to help make food delivery more sustainable.
Whyâs it important to utilize reusable containers? Frustratingly, weâve learned that most of the plastic we put in the recycling bin doesnât end up being recycled, but in the landfill. In fact, globally only ~10% of plastic is actually recycled. SAD. Letâs dispatch the goods.
Itâs not gasâŠitâs electric! Live in a dense urban environment? Have an EV and riddled with range anxiety? itselectric is going to help make curbside EV chargers as common as fire hydrants. Why is this important? According to McKinsey, the United States will need 20x more chargers than we have now if we hit nationwide 2030 EV targets.
CTC invested into itselectric alongside The Helm and Clean Energy Venture Group. itselectric will also be participating in the startup showcase at CTCâs 2nd annual SXSW extravaganza on 3/11 with 1,000+ people already RSVPd!
Gonna be at SXSW this weekend?!? RSVP Below!
